The ideal candidate holds a teaching qualification in Physics or Chemistry and has 2+ years of classroom experience, with strong English communication and proficiency in educational technology.

Qualifications

• A recognised teaching qualification or degree in Physics, Chemistry, or a related science discipline.
• Proven experience teaching Physics and Chemistry to secondary school students (2+ years).
• Strong subject knowledge of Physics and Chemistry at secondary level and ability to explain concepts clearly.
• Proficiency with educational technology and digital resources to enhance teaching and learning.

Responsibilities

• Deliver Physics and Chemistry lessons to secondary students using varied teaching methods.
• Develop lesson plans, materials, and assessments aligned with curriculum objectives.
• Create an engaging classroom environment fostering inquiry and participation.
• Conduct laboratory practicals and hands-on experiments to reinforce concepts.
• Assess student progress with formative and summative methods and provide feedback.

About the role

Scholario Indonesia is seeking a passionate and dedicated Mentor Science (Physics & Chemistry) to join our educational team in South Denpasar, Bali. This is a full-time position that plays a crucial role in shaping the scientific understanding and academic development of secondary school students. As a Science Mentor specialising in Physics and Chemistry, you will be responsible for delivering engaging, interactive lessons that inspire students to develop a genuine interest in science whilst achieving academic excellence. This role is integral to our mission of providing high-quality education and fostering critical thinking skills in our students.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver engaging and well-structured Physics and Chemistry lessons to secondary school students, utilising a variety of teaching methodologies and resources
• Develop and design comprehensive lesson plans, materials, and assessments aligned with curriculum standards and learning objectives
• Create a stimulating classroom environment that encourages student participation, curiosity, and scientific inquiry
• Conduct laboratory practicals and hands‑on experiments to reinforce theoretical concepts and develop practical scientific skills
• Assess student progress through regular formative and summative assessments, providing constructive feedback to support learning
• Maintain detailed records of student performance and progress, identifying areas requiring additional support or challenge
• Collaborate with colleagues to develop interdisciplinary projects and ensure consistency across the science curriculum
• Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student progress, achievements, and areas for development
• Participate in professional development opportunities and stay current with advances in science education and pedagogy
• Support school events, excursions, and extracurricular science activities that enhance student learning experiences

What we're looking for

• A recognised teaching qualification or degree in Physics, Chemistry, or a related science discipline
• Proven experience teaching Physics and Chemistry to secondary school students, ideally 2+ years in a classroom setting
• Strong subject knowledge and understanding of Physics and Chemistry at secondary level, with the ability to explain complex concepts clearly and accessibly
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues
• Demonstrated ability to create engaging, interactive lessons that cater to diverse learning styles and abilities
• Proficiency in using educational technology and digital resources to enhance teaching and learning
• Strong organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple responsibilities effectively
• A commitment to student wellbeing, safeguarding, and creating an inclusive learning environment
• Passion for science education and a genuine enthusiasm for inspiring the next generation of scientists
• Fluency in English; proficiency in Indonesian language is advantageous
