Job summary

Octarine in Indonesia is seeking an experienced Fragrance Evaluator to join our R&D team in Bogor. You will assess fragrance performance against briefs, provide structured sensory feedback, and help develop and reformulate scents.

With a chemistry background and at least two years in perfumery, you will analyze notes, stability, and market directions, while documenting findings and maintaining fragrance sample databases.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, pharmacy, food technology, or related field.
• Minimum 2 years of fragrance evaluation or development experience.
• Strong olfactory sensitivity with consistent sensory and organoleptic testing skills.
• Deep understanding of notes, raw materials, and stability testing.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate fragrance performance based on briefs, target market, and consumer preferences.
• Provide structured sensory feedback on fragrance development results.
• Support new fragrance development and reformulation.
• Recommend formula adjustments and cost-optimizations without sacrificing scent quality.
• Conduct stability and compatibility tests across bases (EDP, EDT, body care).
• Ensure batch-to-batch scent consistency and perform supplier quality checks.
• Analyze market trends and olfactive directions to support innovation and marketing.
• Prepare documentation, evaluation reports, and maintain fragrance sample databases.
