Job summary

Dexis is seeking a Senior Global Health Security Epidemiology Advisor to support the U.S. Embassy Jakarta ECON Health Unit and the Indonesian Ministry of Health.

The role focuses on epidemiology, disease surveillance, One Health guidelines, and pandemic preparedness, with remote work and occasional on-site collaboration. The candidate will guide systems strengthening, data-driven decisions, and technical reporting while coordinating with USG and MOH teams to enhance global health security in

Qualifications

• Advanced degree in Epidemiology, Public Health, or related field.
• 15+ years in applied epidemiology and global health with publications.
• Experience guiding governments and international partners in complex settings.
• Proven outbreak investigation and emergency response experience.
• Knowledge of global health security frameworks and USG GHS programs.
• Proficiency in epidemiological software (R, Stata, SAS) and strong data analysis skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-level epidemiological guidance for surveillance and outbreak investigations.
• Lead design and evaluation of zoonotic disease surveillance and early warning systems.
• Develop One Health guidelines for pandemic preparedness in collaboration with MOH.
• Analyze data to inform policy and program decisions on zoonotic threats.
• Mentor national and sub-national epidemiology teams and build capacity.
• Coordinate responses to infectious disease outbreaks and public health emergencies.
