Job summary

MatchaTalent is seeking an R&D Manager for sports nutrition and nutraceuticals to lead development from concept to launch. The role is hands-on, overseeing formulation, trials, and scale-up while ensuring regulatory compliance and cost optimization.

The position requires strong leadership, cross-functional collaboration with regulatory, QC, production, procurement, and marketing teams, and a passion for fitness and sports nutrition products. On-site in Tangerang.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5+ years of proven R&D experience in dietary supplements, sports nutrition, nutraceuticals, or functional foods.
• Minimum 2–3 years of managerial or team leadership experience within an R&D function.
• Strong knowledge of BPOM, Halal, GMP, HACCP, and relevant quality standards.
• Hands-on experience in formulation development, lab trials, pilot-scale testing, and scale-up.
• Professional proficiency in English for technical documentation and supplier communication.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end R&D and product development for sports nutrition, dietary supplements, nutraceuticals, and functional foods.
• Translate trends, market opportunities, and business requirements into viable product concepts.
• Develop and optimize formulations across powders, capsules, tablets, sticks, RTDs, and other formats.
• Oversee laboratory trials to optimize taste, solubility, stability, and ingredient interactions.
• Direct lab and pilot-scale trials and ensure smooth tech transfer to manufacturing facilities.
• Establish standardized R&D processes, SOPs, and QA documentation.
• Mentor and develop the R&D team and manage multiple pipelines.
