Job summary

PT Yamakawa Rattan Industry in Cirebon seeks a QC Supervisor to oversee the quality control chain, lead field inspectors, and ensure furniture from rattan, iron, and aluminium meets export standards.

You will inspect incoming materials, monitor metal welding, oversee weaving quality, and generate daily to monthly quality reports, coaching staff and reporting to the QC Manager.

Qualifications

• Minimum D3 or S1 in Industrial Engineering or related field.
• 2-3 years as QC Supervisor or Senior QC Inspector in furniture manufacturing.
• Knowledge of metal, rattan materials and outdoor fabrics.
• Ability to read 2D/3D drawings and technical specs.
• Familiarity with ISO 9001 and quality tools (5S, PDCA, Fishbone).

Responsibilities

• Inspect incoming raw materials quality (moisture, UV resistance, thickness).
• Ensure metal frame dimensions per drawings and monitor welding strength.
• Oversee rattan weaving quality and final product packing standards.
• Monitor pretreatment and powder coating adhesion and surface finish.
• Conduct mechanical tests and verify export packing readiness.
• Manage QC field team, schedules, and coaching across lines.
• Produce daily/weekly/monthly quality reports (yield, defects, rejects).
• Provide root-cause analysis and corrective actions to QC Manager.

Job description

PT Yamakawa Rattan Industry is seeking a QC Supervisor to oversee the entire quality control chain, lead a team of field inspectors, and ensure that combination furniture products made from rattan (natural & synthetic), iron, and aluminium meet high quality standards for the export market.

Key responsibilities

Inspect incoming raw material quality, including moisture content of natural rattan, UV elasticity and resistance of synthetic rattan, and thickness and rust-free condition of iron/aluminium pipes

Ensure precision of metal frame dimensions according to technical drawings, monitor welding strength (TIG/MIG), and check accuracy of jigs/molding

Oversee neatness, pattern, and tightness of rattan weaving to meet comfort standards and ensure final locking is not sharp

Monitor metal pre-treatment chemical processes and ensure flatness, thickness, and adhesion of powder coating layers are free from pinholes

Conduct mechanical function tests, load stability verification, and verify protective multi-layer packaging standards for export container readiness

Manage QC field team placement, work schedules, and provide regular coaching to QC staff and inspectors across all production lines to maintain consistent quality standards

Create and evaluate daily, weekly, and monthly quality reports regarding yield rate, defect rate, and reject product status for management reporting

Report instantly if critical quality issues (major defects) or mass material deviations are found that could halt production lines

Provide root cause analysis data and recommend corrective action solutions to the QC Manager

Provide periodic performance evaluations, disciplinary notes, and training needs for subordinate QC inspector staff to the QC Manager

About you

Minimum D3 or S1 education in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Product Design, or related engineering field

Minimum 2-3 years of work experience as QC Supervisor or Senior QC Inspector in furniture manufacturing industry (preferably specializing in metal and rattan combinations)

Mastery of material characteristics: iron, aluminium, natural rattan, synthetic rattan, and outdoor fabric

Able to read technical drawings and 2D & 3D work drawings in detail and with precision

Understanding of furniture metal production processes (welding, pre-treatment, powder coating) and weaving techniques

Strong understanding of international furniture strength testing standards (such as BIFMA or EN Standard)

Familiar with Quality Management System implementation (ISO 9001) and problem-solving methodologies (5S, PDCA, Fishbone, 5 Whys)

Firm, communicative, with strong leadership qualities, and able to work under production line pressure

Very high attention to detail regarding physical and aesthetic product quality
