Job summary

Kumparan is seeking a Quality Assurance Engineer to ensure the reliability and quality of web, mobile, and API software. You will design test strategies, write test cases, and collaborate with product and engineering teams to prevent defects.

The role emphasizes automation, API testing, and SQL for backend verification. Ideal candidates have 2–4 years' hands-on QA experience, a CS-related degree, and strong communication to report issues clearly.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field.
• 2–4 years of QA/Software Testing experience with SDLC/STLC understanding in Agile/Scrum environments.
• Experience designing, writing, and executing test plans, cases, and scenarios for functional, integration, and regression testing.
• Hands-on automation experience for web, mobile, or API applications.

Responsibilities

• Automation Testing: proficiency in at least one framework (Playwright, Selenium, Appium, Robot Framework).
• API Testing: hands-on REST/GraphQL testing using Postman or similar tools.
• Database & Querying: write basic to intermediate SQL for data verification and test setup.
• Soft Skills & Core Competencies: critical thinking, attention to detail, and technical communication.
• Collaboration: work closely with developers, product managers, and designers throughout the product lifecycle.

Job description

• 2–4 years of relevant hands-on experience as a QA Engineer or Software Tester.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or a related technical field (or equivalent practical experience).
• Methodology & Process: Strong understanding of SDLC (Software Development Life Cycle) and STLC (Software Testing Life Cycle), with practical experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
• Test Design & Execution: Proven track record of designing, writing, and executing comprehensive test plans, test cases, and test scenarios for functional, integration, and regression testing.
• Automation Experience: Practical experience developing, executing, and maintaining automated test scripts for web, mobile, or API applications.

Scope of Work:

• Automation Testing: Proficiency in at least one test automation framework (e.g. Playwright, Selenium, Appium, or Robot Framework).
• API Testing: Hands-on experience testing REST APIs or GraphQL using tools such as Postman, or insomnia.
• Database & Querying: Ability to write basic to intermediate SQL queries for backend data verification and test setup.
• Soft Skills & Core Competencies
• Critical Thinking & Attention to Detail: Strong analytical mindset to identify edge cases, potential failure points, and perform root-cause analysis on defects.
• Technical Communication: Ability to clearly articulate bug reports, reproduction steps, and test coverage status to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Collaboration: Strong teamwork skills to collaborate closely with developers, product managers, and designers throughout the product lifecycle.
