Job summary

Johnson Controls in Indonesia is seeking a Project Engineer, HVAC, to lead project planning, cost control and execution. You will supervise Assistant Project Engineer and/or Technician and manage subcontractors at site to ensure timely delivery and client satisfaction.

The ideal candidate has 2–5 years in HVAC, data center or chiller plant projects, strong English, proficiency with Excel/Word/Project, and willingness to travel across Indonesia.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from reputable university in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering (HVAC).
• 2–5 years of relevant HVAC experience (cooling, CPOS or BMS/Building Management).
• Experience with Data Center or Chiller Plant projects preferred.

Responsibilities

• Plan project schedule and cost control in coordination with supervisor.
• Supervise sub-contractors and on-site technicians to ensure quality and timely delivery.
• Coordinate progress with customers and suppliers to expedit e installation and handover.
• Ensure all work conforms to project specifications and is properly documented.

What you will do:

As a Project Engineer, HVAC, you will be responsible for Project planning, cost control and execution. Supervision of Assistant Project Engineer and/or Technician as assigned, and supervision of sub-contractors’ work at site. Other special works as assigned by supervisor from time to time. Assume responsibility for the successful completion of the projects and meet customers satisfaction.

How you will do:

• Plan work schedule for the project under responsibility, in coordination with supervisor.
• Coordinate and monitor work progress with customer and relevant parties for information to expedite installation.
• Supervision of sub-contractors’ work at site
• Schedule purchase and deliveries of all materials for the project in a timely manner.
• Check and ensure all installations conform to project specifications.
• Update projects progress regularly to his supervisor.
• Assign task to, and supervise Assistant Project Engineer, Technician, if any.
• System applications, drafting, data base generation and commissioning.
• Identify and secure variation order.
• Cost control. Monitor and ensure delivery of financial commitment as per project handover.
• Ensure that all work completed are filed and invoiced.
• Follow-up on payment from customers and verify payment to our suppliers.
• Train customer and provide first year maintenance warranty schedule visit.
• Hand over project to customer and later to service team.
• Perform regular quality audit for all the suppliers and sub-contractors

What we look for:

• Bachelor’s Degree from reputable university, majoring in Electrical, Mechanical (Specializing in HVAC, Static/Rotating Equipment, Piping).
• Having 2 - 5 years of relevant experience in HVAC cooling system, CPOS or Building Management.
• Must have experience handling Data Center or Chiller Plant Projects.
• Team player is essential.
• English proficiencies (reading, writing, conversation) are essential.
• Excel, Word, and Project are essential.
• 2 years of supervisory experience.
• Willing to travel around Indonesia.
• Require interaction with clients, consultants and sub-contractors, etc.
• Need to work odd hours as and when required, whenever the work need to be done on time.
