Job summary

Johnson Controls Indonesia is seeking a Project Engineer, HVAC, to lead project planning, cost control, and on-site execution. You will supervise engineers and technicians, coordinate with clients and subcontractors, and ensure timely delivery of materials and adherence to project specs.

The role requires 2–5 years of HVAC experience, English proficiency, and willingness to travel across Indonesia as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Mechanical engineering from a reputable university.
• 2–5 years of relevant HVAC experience (cooling systems, CPOS or building management).
• Experience handling Data Center or Chiller Plant Projects is preferred.
• Must be a team player with strong English (reading, writing, speaking).
• Proficient in Excel, Word and MS Project.
• Minimum 2 years of supervisory experience.
• Willing to travel around Indonesia and work flexible hours.

Responsibilities

• Plan project work schedules in coordination with the supervisor.
• Monitor progress with customers and relevant parties to expedite installation.
• Supervise sub-contractors at site and coordinate third parties.
• Schedule purchases and deliveries of all materials for the project.
• Ensure installations meet project specifications and quality standards.
• Update project progress regularly to the supervisor.
• Assign tasks to and supervise junior engineers/technicians.
• Handle system applications, drafting, data-base generation and commissioning.
• Identify and secure variation orders.
• Manage cost control and financial commitments on project handover.
• File and invoice completed work and follow up on payments.

What you will do:

As a Project Engineer, HVAC, you will be responsible for Project planning, cost control and execution. Supervision of Assistant Project Engineer and/or Technician as assigned, and supervision of sub-contractors’ work at site. Other special works as assigned by supervisor from time to time. Assume responsibility for the successful completion of the projects and meet customers satisfaction.

How you will do:

• Plan work schedule for the project under responsibility, in coordination with supervisor.
• Coordinate and monitor work progress with customer and relevant parties for information to expedite installation.
• Supervision of sub-contractors’ work at site
• Schedule purchase and deliveries of all materials for the project in a timely manner.
• Check and ensure all installations conform to project specifications.
• Update projects progress regularly to his supervisor.
• Assign task to, and supervise Assistant Project Engineer, Technician, if any.
• System applications, drafting, data base generation and commissioning.
• Identify and secure variation order.
• Cost control. Monitor and ensure delivery of financial commitment as per project handover.
• Ensure that all work completed are filed and invoiced.
• Follow-up on payment from customers and verify payment to our suppliers.
• Train customer and provide first year maintenance warranty schedule visit.
• Hand over project to customer and later to service team.
• Perform regular quality audit for all the suppliers and sub-contractors

What we look for:

• Bachelor’s Degree from reputable university, majoring in Electrical, Mechanical (Specializing in HVAC, Static/Rotating Equipment, Piping).
• Having 2 - 5 years of relevant experience in HVAC cooling system, CPOS or Building Management.
• Must have experience handling Data Center or Chiller Plant Projects.
• Team player is essential.
• English proficiencies (reading, writing, conversation) are essential.
• Excel, Word, and Project are essential.
• 2 years of supervisory experience.
• Willing to travel around Indonesia.
• Require interaction with clients, consultants and sub-contractors, etc.
• Need to work odd hours as and when required, whenever the work need to be done on time.
