Job summary

Caterpillar Indonesia Batam is seeking a Production Supervisor to lead a skilled machining team in a rotating shift. You will oversee CNC turning, milling, shot blasting, and multitask operations, ensuring adherence to safety and quality standards on the plant floor.

The role requires a diploma in engineering with 3+ years of supervisory leadership in machining and strong English and MS Office skills. Onsite work five days a week with relocation support available.

Qualifications

• Diploma in engineering with at least 3 years of supervisory leadership experience in machining
• Experience leading CNC turning, milling and multitask machining operations preferred
• Strong English communication and MS Office proficiency

Responsibilities

• Supervise daily production line operations, assign tasks, and coordinate across teams to ensure safety and quality.
• Maintain and update operating procedures and safety/quality standards; ensure compliance across processes.
• Train new hires, manage scheduling, resolve conflicts, and promote internal communication for continuous improvement.
• Create reports on production performance, tool issues, and inventory; provide management with improvement recommendations.

Are you passionate about precision machining and leadership? PT. Caterpillar Indonesia Batam is seeking a dedicated Production Supervisor to lead a talented team of machining workers. In this pivotal role, you will ensure that machining processes CNC milling, Shot Blasting, Heat Treatment, Deburring process and multitask operations, run smoothly and comply with company policies, procedures, norms, and directions.

You will work in manufacturing shop-floor environment.

Domestic relocation is available for this position.

What You Will Do:

• Creating reports and records of production processes, tools issues performance, and inventory; sharing them with managers and providing suggestions to improve safety, productivity and quality.
• Preparing, maintaining, and updating documentation related to operating procedures and safety and quality standards; ensuring all processes and products meet desired safety and quality standards.
• Supervising and directing the daily activities of production lines workers, assigning tasks, ensuring coordination between different teams, ensuring their safety and monitoring their performance.
• Training new hires, managing scheduling and work conflicts, monitoring safety, and promoting internal communication to create a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.

• Quality Management: Knowledge of quality management methods, tools, and techniques and ability to create and support an environment that meets the quality goals of the organization.
• Planning and Organizing: Knowledge of the process of planning and arranging tasks and resources; ability to plan and organize both time and resources to get things completed while structuring and maintaining work in a systematic and highly methodical way.
• Process Improvement: Understanding and insight into evaluating current product quality and production methods and ability to maintains focus on the continuous improvement of processes, products and services.
• Talent Management: Knowledge of human resources and talent management processes; ability to lead, motivate, evaluate, and reward employees at the workplace.
• Machine Shop Operations: Knowledge of manufacturing operations; ability to perform day-to-day operations of a manufacturing plant or facility for products.
• Manufacturing Safety: Knowledge of manufacturing safety; ability to identify work-related hazards and perform necessary activities to meet regulatory requirements for the safety and protection of workers, environment and site.

What Will Set You Apart:

• A minimum diploma in engineering with at least 3 years of experience in a leadership or supervisory role in machining, including CNC turning operations, milling operations, and multitask operations.
• Proficiency in speaking and writing in English, as well as operating Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

Physical Requirements (with or without reasonable accommodation):

• This job requires extensive active movement throughout the plant including climbing stairs and steps, lifting devices, and pushing and pulling equipment.
