Job summary

JAPFA seeks a Flock Officer for its poultry operations, based at Ulu Jati Indah CPD. You will oversee daily care, welfare, and production performance of flocks to ensure health and productivity in line with company standards.

Responsibilities include monitoring flock health, implementing feeding and ventilation programs, administering medications, and maintaining detailed records. The role requires flexibility, team collaboration, and adherence to biosecurity and SOPs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; degree in animal science preferred.
• Proven poultry farming experience, especially broiler or layer operations.
• Strong knowledge of poultry health, nutrition, and welfare.
• Ability to identify common poultry diseases and apply preventive measures.
• Familiar with biosecurity principles and SOPs.
• Good observation, attention to detail, and record-keeping.
• Able to work independently and as part of a team.
• Willing to work flexible hours including weekends/holidays.
• Driver's license preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conduct daily inspections of poultry houses to monitor flock health and environment.
• Implement feeding, watering, and ventilation programs.
• Administer medication and vaccinations per protocols.
• Monitor production parameters and record data.
• Identify disease signs and report to supervisor or vet.
• Maintain accurate flock records.
• Ensure cleanliness and sanitation of houses and equipment.
• Assist with catching, moving, and loading birds.
• Follow biosecurity protocols and SOPs.
• Operate and maintain farm equipment.
• Supervise and train junior staff.
• Participate in team meetings and problem-solving.
