Port Maintenance Electrical Instrument Engineer

The objective of Port Maintenance Electrical Instrument Engineer is to ensure that equipment is correctly maintained and can perform at its optimum capability and capacity. This role is also accountable to evaluate the effectiveness of maintenance work, do engineering work for simple design or modification, and ensure that CMMS – Computerized Maintenance Management System – has all the capabilities needed to support maintenance activities.

Main Accountabilities

Ensure that equipment at Port Area can be operated at optimum capability and capacity by reviewing existing and history of operation and/or repairing and paretorizing problems by downtime or frequency or cost, prior to doing Total Quality Circle (PDCA – Plan Do Check Action) on action plans that have to be done to solve the highest influencing factor(s) to trend down cost and MTTR and trend up PA, MTBF, and MTTFS.

Develop Key Performance Indicators (KPI) – $/hr, PA, MTBF, MTTR, MTTFS, planned/unplanned ratio – and their monitoring system.

Develop and update the maintenance procedures (including PM [Preventive Maintenance], Condition Monitoring, PCR [Planned Component Replacement], and breakdown), in addition to developing and updating maintenance standards (duration, man-hours, and cost) to ensure that all maintenance work is done safely, effectively, and efficiently.

Regularly audit compliance with the approved maintenance procedures. Report any deficiency to the Direct Supervisor. This accountability includes updating PM check sheet to ensure coverage of PM inspection performed by maintenance crews is adequate and updating lubrication and PM inspection sequences to reduce PM duration and increase the preciseness of PM inspection result.

Implement Reliability Engineering Concept to define the correct maintenance strategies.

Conduct equipment commissioning and re-commissioning.

Prepare yearly equipment budget; monitor, report and present actual spending compared to budget; and highlight any significant variances.

Prepare project evaluation, capital project, and capital spare.

Evaluate cost / hour every month and provide recommendation/s to ensure the most effective usage and economic cost / hour.

Ensure modification is adequately engineered and approved by the Port Operation & Maintenance Department Head before modification is implemented.

Lead a Failure Analysis Team and publish the failure analysis report.

Be involved in the Maintenance Execution Team in troubleshooting.

Ensure documentation & records required for the effective functioning of the Maintenance Management System for are collated in a timely manner and promote the improvement of the effectiveness and efficiency of the Maintenance Management System.

Develop, manage, apply, and continuously improve port operation maintenance policies and procedures.

Organize follow up on maintenance planning accordingly.

Comply with requirements of the Maintenance Management System.

Analyze and evaluate problems on Port Equipment by checking the equipment, conducting a specific test, or analyzing a special sample to recommend solution (troubleshooting) to the Coal Processing Operations Team.

Review and distribute information which directly affects the process and production to the Operations Team.

Seek opportunities to improve plant process and productivity.

Absorb and implement the latest Maintenance Strategy for future plant improvement, if needed.

Job Qualifications

S1 Mechanical/ Electrical/ Process Engineering.

≥ 3 years In a relevant role within fixed plant maintenance execution such as Washing Plant, Crushing Plant, Conveyor, etc. (preferably in coal or mineral mining industry).

≥ 3 years experience in a relevant role in Electrical/Instrument Maintenance for Fix Plant

Certification in POP & AK3.

Understanding and ability to implement the RCM in Fixed Plant.

Computer Literacy – Preferably SAP Plant Maintenance / MIMS / Ellips / JDE, as well as Microsoft office, Autocad, Solid Work, Microsoft Project, and Microsoft Access.
