Job summary

Volex invites a Product Planner to join our Batam operation to manage materials planning for customer orders and align with production schedules across sites. You will monitor lead times, forecast demand, and optimize inventory levels while coordinating with regional offices to meet delivery commitments.

The role requires a Diploma or University Degree in related fields, 2-3 years of experience, and proficiency in Excel and ERP/MRP systems with strong communication in Bahasa and English.

Qualifications

• Diploma or University Degree in Industrial, Electrical Engineering, Data Analytics, or Business Administration.
• Proven planning experience and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong Excel/MS Office skills and familiarity with MRP/ERP systems.

Responsibilities

• Planned and reviewed materials for customer orders.
• Managed daily and long-range planning, scheduling, and support for commercial activities.
• Expedited materials through purchasing and coordinated FG shipments to sites.
• Coordinate forecasts and load Customer Forecast into Volex System.
• Ensure inventory targets and buffer stocks are maintained.
• Communicate with Batam, Singapore and Asia offices via email and calls.
• Contribute to minimizing obsolete items by designating active parts.

The Planner role reports to the Planning Manager.

• Planning (PPIC) and Order Administration
• Meet CRD & VCD
• New order enquiry against materials plan
• Planned and reviewed materials for customer orders
• Materials planned for custom design
• Forecast for long lead-time materials
• Materials plan per consumption of standard part
• In-house cable planning and coordination

Key Responsibilities for this role

• Planned and reviewed materials for customer orders
• Manage daily and long range planning / scheduling and support commercial
• Expedite materials through purchasing
• Alternate source plan for urgent orders and cost saving
• Materials shipment to respective production sites
• Job orders proceed, amended
• Production sites schedule on time delivery and customer order are fulfilled
• Co-ordinate FG rejects replacement to all production sites
• Converting non-moving and obsolete items to active parts
• Inventory is controlled within target and buffer stocks is maintained
• BPCS system utilization and MRP flow
• Follow up on DRP/ MRS/ MRP work flow by facility, planner code maintenance and minimum stocks maintenance
• Load Customer Forecast into Volex System

Education & Industry Experience required

• Diploma or University Degree in Industrial, Electrical Engineering, Data Analytics, Business Administration
• At least 2-3 years of relevant working experience
• Familiarity and experience with electrical/electronic components, wire harness, etc. would be a plus.
• Planning mindset, and multitasking
• Proficiency in Excel, MS Office, and or other systems (e.g. pivot tables, vlookup formula)
• Communication with Batam Office, Singapore and Asia offices via e-mails and calls.
• Clear communication in good Bahasa and English fluency.
