Job summary

Siloam Hospitals Group is seeking an Occupational Therapist to support patient care through assessment, planning, and rehabilitation programs. The role applies manual therapy, therapeutic exercises, and modalities to improve function, and documents outcomes to guide future care.

You will collaborate with clinicians, educate patients and families on home care, and ensure safety and compliance with hospital standards.

Qualifications

• Diploma (D3) in Occupational Therapy is required.
• Minimum 1 year work experience as Occupational Therapist.
• Proficiency in physiotherapy techniques, including manual therapy, therapeutic exercises, and modalities.
• Ability to develop tailored treatment solutions to address complex impairments and functional limitations.
• Strong skills in assessing patient conditions, diagnosing impairments, and developing effective treatment plans.

Responsibilities

• Attend briefings before scheduled patient appointments to obtain information regarding previous conditions.
• Check the function and cleanliness of tools at the start of each shift to ensure standards are met.
• Receive patients using service standards to ensure consistency of service received.
• Carrying out an assessment to plan programs and actions and selecting physiotherapy modalities.
• Analyze information from patient assessments to determine the suitability of the program and results.
• Explain procedures, duration, and effects to patients to ensure complete initial education.
• Carry out the physiotherapy program in accordance with procedures until completion for safety and comfort.
• Educate patients and families on home care and schedule next sessions to ensure continuity of healing.
• Document patient files before, during and after procedures for evaluation and improvement of services.
• Collect data and reports related to operational activities for accountability.

Job description

• Attend briefings before scheduled patient appointments to obtain information regarding previous operational conditions
• Check the function and cleanliness of tools at the start of each shift to ensure all tools used comply with standards
• Receive patients using service standards set by the Hospital to ensure consistency of service received by patients
• Carrying out an assessment regarding the condition and complaints of discomfort experienced by the patient in determining a diagnosis to plan the program and actions that will be given to the patient and selecting physiotherapy modalities
• Analyzing integrated information from patient assessment data to determine the suitability of the physiotherapy program programmed by the doctor with the assessment results
• Explain the procedure to be given, the length of time, and the effects of the procedure to the patient to ensure that the patient receives complete initial education
• Carry out the physiotherapy program in accordance with established procedures until completion to ensure patient comfort and safety during the process action takes place
• Educate patients and their families/companions after the procedure regarding home care and schedule the next session to ensure the continuity of the patient's healing process
• Carry out complete documentation of patient files before, during and after procedures as evaluation material to improve subsequent medical rehabilitation services
• Collect required data and/or make reports related to operational activities as accountability to superiors
• Implement procedures and practices for quality and safety services, including attending training, collecting data, documenting and/or making reports needed to support the achievement of hospital wide indicators and related department/unit targets
