About the role

Our school is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Physics Teacher to join our secondary education team. This is a full-time position based in Semarang, Jawa Tengah. As a Physics Teacher, you will play a vital role in inspiring and educating students in one of the core sciences, helping them develop critical thinking skills and a deep understanding of the physical world. This position is essential to our commitment to delivering high-quality secondary education and fostering a love of learning within our diverse student body.

Key responsibilities

Plan and deliver engaging physics lessons that meet curriculum standards and cater to diverse learning needs of secondary students

Create and maintain a safe, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment that encourages student participation and scientific inquiry

Develop and utilize appropriate teaching resources, including practical experiments and demonstrations to enhance student understanding

Assess student progress through a range of formative and summative assessments, providing constructive feedback to support learning

Maintain accurate records of student achievement and progress, and communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding academic performance

Contribute to the development and refinement of the physics curriculum to ensure it remains relevant and challenging

Supervise and support student investigations, practical work, and laboratory activities in accordance with health and safety standards

Participate in departmental meetings and collaborate with colleagues to share best practices and professional development

Support the wider school community through extracurricular activities, mentoring programmes, and pastoral care responsibilities as appropriate

What we’re looking for

A recognised teaching qualification or degree in Physics, or equivalent professional qualification in secondary science education

Proven experience teaching physics at secondary level, with a strong grasp of physics content knowledge and pedagogical approaches

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and motivate students of varying abilities

Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple classes and administrative responsibilities effectively

Proficiency in using technology and digital tools to enhance teaching and learning

A genuine passion for science and the ability to inspire students to pursue physics further
