Role Description

The Science Teacher is a full-time, on-site role based in Jakarta, Indonesia. The person in this role will plan and deliver engaging science lessons that align with the national curriculum and IB standards, supporting students’ understanding in areas such as physics and general science. Daily responsibilities include preparing lesson plans, teaching classes, assessing student progress, providing feedback, and maintaining accurate records of student achievement. The Science Teacher will collaborate with colleagues on curriculum development, participate in school events and professional development, and contribute to a positive, inclusive, and inquiry-based learning environment. The role also involves communicating regularly with families about student learning and supporting students’ responsibility to their community in line with Cikal’s philosophy.

Qualifications

• Strong background in Science Education with subject expertise in Physics and related scientific disciplines.
• Ability to integrate Mathematics concepts into science learning where relevant.
• Recognized as a Qualified Teacher, with experience in lesson planning and classroom instruction.
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Education, Science, Physics, or a related field.
• Experience teaching within national and/or IB curricula is highly beneficial.
• Skilled in creating student-centered, inquiry-based learning experiences and differentiating instruction.
• Effective classroom management, communication, and collaboration skills with students, families, and colleagues.
