Job summary

Siloamcareers invites applications for a Pharmacist Assistant to join our hospital pharmacy team. You will support pharmaceutical services by receiving prescriptions, compounding and preparing medicines, and distributing drugs for outpatient and inpatient units.

You will monitor service standards, manage data and reports, handle complaints, supervise storage and equipment, and provide drug information education to staff.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in Pharmacy is required.
• Minimum 1 year hospital or clinical pharmacy experience.
• Strong clinical knowledge in pharmacotherapy and drug interactions.
• Familiarity with medication safety and regulatory standards.
• Ability to prepare, dispense and monitor a wide range of medications.

Responsibilities

• Support pharmaceutical services: receive prescriptions, compound and prepare medicines, and distribute drugs in OPD and inpatient units.
• Monitor and ensure pharmacy staff comply with hospital standards and procedures.
• Receive and handle complaints from patients, doctors, nurses, or other departments to maintain service quality.

• Oversee storage, procurement and maintenance of medicines and equipment.
• Provide drug information education to staff about new drugs and existing therapies.
• Monitor refrigerator and room conditions to optimise storage.
• Support the Assistant Pharmacist to maintain smooth OPD services.

Job description

• -Supporting pharmaceutical services in terms of receiving prescriptions, compounding and preparing medicines as well as distributing medicines in outpatient and inpatient pharmacy services to ensure that patients' drug needs are met in accordance with the service and quality standards set by the hospital. Monitor and continuously check the service management of Pharmacist Assistants and Runners in the outpatient and inpatient pharmacy units to ensure that the standards and procedures set by the hospital are carried out correctly and consistently.
• -Receive and handle complaints from patients, doctors, nurses, or other departments related to pharmacy outpatient unit services to ensure customer satisfaction with pharmacy outpatient unit services
• -outpatient services in relation to the implementation of established policies, standards and procedures, including operational obstacles that may be encountered which can be followed up or escalated to interested parties
• -Ensuring the completeness of data and monthly reports for the pharmaceutical outpatient unit: Static drug reports and drugs that are almost/already expired, Stock and price reports, Data quality objectives, Narcotic and psychotropic drug stock reports, Other required reports
• -Monitor the procurement and use of medicines and general equipment, as well as the condition of cleanliness, procurement, use and maintenance of equipment in the pharmaceutical outpatient unit, so that they can be accountable to superiors
• -Carrying out socialization and education to workers in the pharmacy outpatient unit regarding existing new drugs, as well as conducting drug information services for all parties who need it to ensure that all relevant departments receive correct and appropriate information according to their needs.
• -Monitor the refrigerator temperature as well as room temperature and humidity to optimize drug storage and management
• -Implement and supervise procedures and practices for quality and safety services, including attending training, collecting data, documenting and/or making reports needed to support the achievement of hospital wide indicators and related departmental targets
