Job summary

Savista is seeking an Eligibility Specialist 2 to assist patients in navigating Medicaid, Medicare, disability, and hospital charity programs. You will meet with patients, assess eligibility, and guide them through complex applications in a compassionate, patient-centered manner.

The role emphasizes collaboration with hospital teams, accurate documentation, and adherence to HIPAA, with a schedule Tue–Sat 8:00am–4:30pm across multiple California locations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 1+ years of experience in a customer-facing role preferred.
• Proficiency in English and Spanish preferred.
• Basic knowledge of Medicaid/Medicare/Disability programs.
• Ability to manage multiple software systems with accuracy.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a patient advocate, meeting with patients in-person to assess eligibility for financial assistance programs.
• Engage patients via phone outreach to facilitate cooperation and complete required screenings and documentation.
• Guide patients through complex applications for Medicaid, Medicare, Disability, and charity programs.
• Collaborate with hospital staff and agencies to secure coverage and resolve eligibility issues.
• Manage a high caseload, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines while maintaining KPIs.
• Explain financial responsibilities and assistance options clearly and empathetically.
• Maintain confidential records, ensuring HIPAA compliance.
• Document, track, and report patient information across multiple systems.
• Support operational needs, including staffing coverage at nearby locations as needed.
• Complete special projects as assigned.
