Job summary

INEOS Aromatics is seeking a Production Operator to perform routine field activity and DCS operator duties during shifts, ensuring safe, reliable, and efficient operation in line with INEOS 20 safety principles.

The role requires a chemical engineering background, either a fresh graduate or 2–3 years of experience in petrochemical production, and the ability to work in shifts. Strong communication and teamwork are essential to coordinate with maintenance teams and operators on site.

Qualifications

• Diploma in chemical engineering or higher.
• Fresh graduate or 2–3 years of production operator experience preferred.
• Basic computer skills for data entry and record keeping.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Flexible to work various shifts.

Responsibilities

• Conduct routine field patrols and operate DCS during shift to ensure safe, reliable operation.
• Prepare and control PTW permits and follow INEOS 20 safety principles.
• Monitor process parameters to keep within NOL, SOL, and SDL limits.
• Coordinate with maintenance and field operators to avoid deviations.
• Conduct weekly safety checks and report abnormalities to the shift supervisor.
• Participate in start-up and shutdown procedures as per procedures.

Purpose / Role of the job

Conduct operation unit routine job field activity and DCS operator activity during shift work to achieve safe, reliable and efficient operation and comply with INEOS 20 safety principles and live saving rules.

Key Responsibilities

SHE

• Ensure the implementation of SHE management policy, starting from the availability of documentation on SHE procedures up to the course of the process of SHE management changes and comply with IGGN's, INEOS 20 Safety Principles, ISO 9001, ISO 14001, SMK3 and Responsible Care.
• Prepare and control the issued permit to work ( PTW ) to make sure that all work activity is done safely and comply with INEOS 20 safety principles and lifesaving rules.
• Control all process parameter to keep unit running in normal operation limit (NOL) and not exceed the Safe operationg limit ( SOL ) and safe design limit ( SDL )
• Prepare JSA for requested job, weekly safety checklist, cross safety audit and safety observation

PEOPLE

• Good communication skills to coordinate the task with maintenance people and contractors to make sure the job is done safely and comply with INEOS safety regulations
• Good communication skills to coordinate the task with field operator to make sure no deviation process parameter between field and DCS
• Good communication skills with other DCS operators on duty to avoid any malfunction operation unit

PLANT PROCESS AND ASSET MONITORRING

• Conduct regularly field patrol log sheet & DCS log sheet during shift work and communicate the result to next shift.
• Analyze the log sheet data and DCS log sheet and communicate with the shift Supervisor in charge if any deviation found during log sheet.
• Conduct field routine activity such as taking sample , prepare all chemicals are used in operation process and housekeeping for work area.
• Operate DCS Control console to coordinate and regulate process variable of various process and utility stream according to operation target requirement, monitor and adjust operation process parameter for ensuring efficiency of operation process
• Control operation unit process parameter to prevent SOL and SDL excursion occurs during his shift work.
• Check and identify any abnormality of operation equipment and DCS proses parameter and report any abnormalities found to shift Supervisor in charge.
• Control product quality as targeted and conduct process adjustment .
• Conduct weekly safety checklist and report any abnormality to shift supervisor in charge
• Conduct Start up and shutdown operation equipment based on available procedure
• Coordinate start up, shutdown (normal and emergency operation) and normal operation with Shift Supervisors and fields operators
• Recommend process improvement to enhance operational efficiency and safety
• Be part of shift asset care team and responsible to conduct asset care activity on shift group dedicated area

Required profile

• Minimum diploma degree or more from chemical engineering background
• Fresh graduated or 2 - 3 years of experience as production operator at Petrochemical company or in a related field is preferred.
• Basic computer skills for data entry and record keeping.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Flexibility to work various shifts as needed.
