This opportunity is based in Jakarta, Indonesia. Our client is a leading national mining company seeking an experienced professional to drive operational excellence, productivity, and growth across its mining services portfolio.

Position Overview

Lead and oversee mining service operations for Coal and Nickel projects, ensuring safe, efficient, and profitable execution across multiple sites.

Drive strategic operational performance, optimise resource utilisation, and support the organisation's continued expansion within the mining sector.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the whole project and operation in mining site, reporting to the BOD.
• Senior operational leader managing site mining service operations, heavy equipment mobilization, pit execution, and safety standards for Coal & Nickel projects.
• Site Management: Lead end-to-end mining site operations, ensuring production targets (overburden removal, extraction, haulage) are achieved safely and within budget.
• Safety & Compliance: Oversee site safety protocols (K3LH), environmental compliance, and operational efficiency across active pits.
• Fleet Optimization: Direct heavy equipment allocation, maintenance schedules, and logistics to minimize downtime.
• Stakeholder Contact: Maintain daily communication with project owners, concession holders, and joint venture partners.
• Oversee Potential Projects: Review project feasibility and provide recommendations on project value and viability.
• Direct and manage all mine production activities including planning, budgeting, staffing, cost control and profitability.
• Assess geological and engineering information and provide direction in the development of mine strategies.
• Co-ordinate, lead and manage mine operations working towards agreed performance and production targets.
• Set strategic direction of the mining process, develop continuous improvement initiatives and improve procedures in an economical manner.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor's Degree in Mining Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 15 years of operational experience, with at least 5 years in a managerial role specifically handling Coal & Nickel mining service projects.
• Experience leading large-scale mining operations and managing multiple operational functions.
• International business experience is highly desirable.
• Willingness to travel and deploy to remote mining sites across Indonesia as required.

Technical / Functional Expertise

• Deep expertise in overburden removal, mine haulage, heavy equipment fleet management, HSE/K3LH standards, and pit execution.
• Strong knowledge of heavy equipment and mining site operations.
• Proven capability in mine production planning, budgeting, staffing, cost control, and profitability management.
• Ability to assess geological and engineering information and translate findings into operational strategies.
• Experience in project feasibility assessment and evaluation of project value and viability.
• Strong operational leadership within coal and nickel mining environments.
• Skill in overall general management with a focus on mining operations.
• Ability to drive operational excellence, productivity improvement, and continuous improvement initiatives.
