Job summary

MatchaTalent is seeking a Procurement Coordinator for a mining project in Papua New Guinea. The role coordinates end-to-end procurement, supplier onboarding, expediting, and compliance with governance standards to ensure uninterrupted supply for operations.

You will work with operations, logistics, finance, and suppliers, manage POs in ERP, support cost-effective purchasing, and help build a high-performing procurement function across corporate and remote mine sites.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in procurement or related field.
• 3–5 years procurement experience in mining, construction, or heavy industry.
• Experience with ERP procurement systems and Microsoft Office.
• Strong negotiation and supplier relationship management skills.
• Ability to thrive in fast-paced, remote operational environments.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate the complete procurement lifecycle from requisition to close-out.
• Review requisitions for completeness, accuracy, and policy compliance.
• Source competitive quotations and conduct market comparisons for value.
• Raise, manage, and monitor Purchase Orders using the ERP system.
• Track supplier progress and expedite critical procurement activities.
• Coordinate supplier onboarding, qualification, and performance monitoring.
• Resolve supplier issues related to quality, delivery, invoicing, and compliance.
• Collaborate with operations, logistics, and finance to ensure uninterrupted supply.
