Job summary

Saipem is seeking an experienced Instrumentation and Control Systems Engineer to lead the engineering design for onshore and offshore Oil & Gas facilities in Indonesia. You will specify and review DCS/PLC/SCADA, participate in safety and commissioning activities, and coordinate cross-functional teams to meet project standards.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in Instrumentation, Electrical, or Control Systems Engineering, with strong ICSS experience and familiarity with international codes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Instrumentation, Electrical, Control Systems Engineering or a related discipline.
• Experience in instrumentation, ICSS (Integrated Control and Safety Systems), and control system engineering within oil & gas, EPC, or industrial sectors.
• Knowledge of instrumentation and control system calculations, engineering studies, and configuration definition.
• Familiarity with engineering design activities and international standards, codes, and regulations.
• Ability to estimate quantities, man-hours, and project costs, with reporting.
• Experience in engineering documentation management and technical proposals.
• Knowledge of subcontractor management, vendor coordination, and bid evaluations.
• Familiarity with engineering software and tools for instrumentation and control systems.
• Understanding of testing, quality control, and safety requirements.

Responsibilities

• Manage the engineering and design of Control, Automation, and Instrumentation systems for onshore and offshore facilities.
• Develop and review control and automation specifications, requisitions, and technical bid evaluations.
• Prepare and review P&IDs, instrument index, I/O lists, control narratives, and loop diagrams.
• Design and integrate DCS, PLC, SCADA, SIS/ESD, Fire & Gas, and package control systems.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary engineering activities with other disciplines.
• Review vendor documents for compliance with project specs and client standards.
• Support HAZOP, SIL, LOPA, FAT, SAT, and Integrated System Testing activities.
• Provide technical support during construction, pre-commissioning, commissioning, and start-up.
• Resolve technical queries and site engineering issues; ensure standards compliance.
• Lead technical meetings with clients, licensors, EPC contractors, and vendors.
