Job summary

Asia Pulp and Paper Group (APP) seeks a Quality Assurance Officer at our Medan facility to ensure products and processes meet company standards and regulatory requirements. You will drive quality improvement, support audits, and maintain QMS-driven documentation.

The role requires strong GMP/HACCP knowledge, familiar with ISO standards, and experience in CAPA and continuous improvement. Proficiency with Excel and QMS processes is expected to deliver robust quality control.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of GMP, HACCP, and food safety management systems is required.
• Familiarity with ISO 9001, ISO 22000, or similar certifications is preferred.
• Experience in document control, CAPA, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Ability to conduct internal audits and monitor compliance with standards.
• Experience in maintaining SOPs, work instructions, and quality records.

Responsibilities

• Ensure all products, processes, and quality systems comply with company standards, customer requirements, and regulatory requirements.

• Prepare, review, and maintain quality documentation including SOPs and quality records.
• Lead internal audits and monitor compliance with quality standards.

Job description

The Quality Assurance Officer is responsible for ensuring that all products, processes, and quality systems comply with company standards, customer requirements, regulatory requirements, and applicable food safety standards. The role focuses on maintaining product quality, driving continuous improvement initiatives, supporting audit activities, and ensuring compliance with Quality Management Systems (QMS).

Job Requirements

Minimum 1-2 years of experience in Quality Assurance, Quality Control, or Quality Management Systems within a manufacturing environment.

Strong understanding of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP), and Food Safety Management Systems.

Knowledge of quality standards such as ISO 9001, ISO 22000, FSSC 22000, Halal Assurance System, or other relevant certifications.

Familiarity with quality assurance processes, document control, corrective and preventive actions (CAPA), and continuous improvement initiatives.

Ability to conduct internal audits and monitor compliance with company quality standards and regulatory requirements.

Experience in preparing, reviewing, and maintaining quality documentation, including SOPs, Work Instructions, and Quality Records.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with knowledge of quality improvement tools such as PDCA, 5 Why Analysis, Fishbone Diagram, and Root Cause Analysis.

Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
