Job summary

Banner University Medical Center Phoenix is seeking a Medical Assistant to support the Maternal Fetal Medicine team. This full-time, day shift role handles patient intake, vitals, procedures, and EMR documentation while delivering excellent customer service.

You will work under providers, room patients, coordinate tests, and assist administrative staff. Certification is required; Banner offers tuition assistance and pathway growth with no weekend shifts.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required and completion of an approved Medical Assistant training program.
• Active Medical Assistant Certification required; BLS certification required.
• Strong computer skills and ability to use medical software.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patient for exam by taking vitals and recording information.
• Assist providers with exams and minor procedures; perform phlebotomies and EKGs as needed.
• Coordinate patient care including referrals, authorizations, and scheduling.
• Provide clerical support and ensure accurate medical records and billing information.
• Maintain clean and safe clinical environment and stock supplies.
• Order supplies and coordinate maintenance for equipment.
• Communicate effectively with patients and staff to support care.
• Complete onboarding and training, including simulation as directed.
• Work under supervision of providers and support multiple departments as needed.
