Job summary

Deckers International HK Limited is seeking an experienced Mold & Tool Engineer to lead mold development and fabrication for footwear production in Jakarta. You will work closely with factory mold shop technicians and global Product Development teams in the US, Vietnam, and China to ensure molds are production-ready and meet design requirements.

The role requires a minimum diploma and at least 7 years in footwear manufacturing and mold fabrication, with strong mold-making and inspection skills.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Lead mold development from 2D/3D blueprint to prototype, fabrication, sampling and testing.

• Audit and maintain mold inventory and condition.
• Establish and finalize mold cycle times with relevant teams.
• Monitor mold shop performance, quality, maintenance, and costs.

Job description

We are looking for an experienced Mold & Tool Engineer to lead and support our mold development and fabrication processes for footwear production. In this role, you will work closely with factory and mold shop technicians, Product Development teams in the US, Vietnam, and China, and production teams to ensure molds are technically qualified, production-ready, and meet product quality and design requirements.

Key responsibilities

Lead the mold development process from 2D/3D blueprint, wooden mold/prototype making, mold fabrication, sampling, and testing.

Coordinate with US and China Product Development teams to ensure molds meet approved product designs and technical specifications.

Plan and manage mold fabrication timelines to support development and production schedules.

Regularly audit and evaluate the condition of existing production molds and maintain an accurate mold inventory.

Work with Development and Bottom Materials teams to establish and finalize mold cycle times.

Monitor and audit mold shop performance, including mold quality, maintenance, and cost/price negotiation.

Provide technical support to production teams in resolving mold-related quality, productivity, and technical issues.

Ensure mold fabrication and maintenance follow appropriate technical standards and best practices.

Support other engineering activities and projects as assigned.

About you

Minimum Diploma Degree education, preferably in Footwear, Mold Making, Mechanical, or a related field.

At least 7 years of experience in footwear manufacturing and mold fabrication.

Strong knowledge and hands-on experience in shoe molds and mold-making processes.

Good skills in mold inspection, troubleshooting, and problem-solving.

Experience working with mold shops and production teams.

Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple timelines and priorities.
