Job summary

Global Hydro Indonesia is seeking a Mechanical Supervisor to oversee installation, service, and maintenance of hydropower equipment on-site across Indonesia. You will read drawings, lead small teams, diagnose issues, and ensure safety and timely delivery.

Ideal candidates have strong mechanical skills, hands-on experience, willingness to travel, and fluent English. Welding experience is a plus for this role, with collaboration across project teams and strict adherence to procedures.

• Willingness to travel frequently for project sites across Indonesia and SE Asia.
• Proficiency in English, both verbal and written, is essential.

• Having a welding license can be an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret mechanical drawings.
• Prepare work schedules, identify equipment and tooling, and complete tasks on time.
• Lead small teams for installation, service, and maintenance activities.
• Diagnose existing problems and provide effective solutions.
• Adhere to mechanical installation, service, maintenance, and safety procedures.
• Load and unload material.
• Weld turbine joints and install turbine components.
• Align generators and turbines; install hydraulic and lubrication systems.
• Oversee welding and fabrication of turbine components.
• Hands-on welding during installation and erection.
• Supervise welding activities per drawings and safety rules.

Tasks & responsibilities

• Proficient in reading and interpreting mechanical drawings
• Capable of preparing work schedules, identifying necessary equipment and tooling, and completing tasks within specified timeframes
• Experienced in leading small teams for installation, service, and maintenance activities
• Skilled in diagnosing existing problems and providing effective solutions
• Adherence to mechanical installation, service, maintenance, and safety procedures
• Loading unloading material,
• Checking turbine equipment, welding turbine joints, placing turbine casing,
• Welding turbine supports, lifting and laying down generator to turbine center line position,
• Adjusting generator to turbine axis, welding support to generator,
• Installing hydraulic unit, hydraulic pipe, lubrication unit and lubrication pipe,
• Experienced in welding and fabrication works for turbine components, including turbine joints, casing supports, and generator supports.
• Hands‑on experience in welding works during turbine mechanical installation and erection.
• Experienced in performing and supervising welding activities in accordance with approved drawings, welding procedures, and safety requirements.
