Job summary

PT Krakatau Posco in Indonesia seeks a Mechanical Engineer with 3+ years in heavy industry to lead field maintenance and ensure drawings alignment.

You will oversee gas networks (BFG, COG, LDG), optimize Calorie analyzers, and manage steam and utility facilities while coordinating with cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum 3+ years in heavy industry (steel, petrochemicals, or oil & gas).
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical and piping drawings.
• Knowledge of BFG, COG, and LDG gas systems is an advantage.
• Proficiency with MS Excel, ERP systems, and engineering software.

Responsibilities

• Field coordination on mechanical maintenance with stakeholders.
• Ensure maintenance activities align with technical drawings.
• Ensure spare parts and equipment availability in readiness condition.
• Gas Network Management: hazard gas networks (BFG, COG, LDG) as engineering authority.
• Calorie & Quality tracking: monitor and optimize Calorie Analyzers.
• Oversee steam distribution and related auxiliary facilities and piping.
• Drive improvements and investments for utility facilities (COG HP Line, LDG HD, etc).
• Resolve issues via quality, monitoring, and maintenance support.

• Field Coordination on mechanical maintenance with stakeholders
• Ensuring the suitability of mechanical maintenance activity related to the actual technical drawing
• Ensuring the availability of spare parts and equipment in readiness condition
• Gas Network Management: Serve as the technical engineering authority for hazardous by-product gas networks, including Blast Furnace Gas (BFG), Coke Oven Gas (COG), and Linz-Donawitz Gas (LDG), as well as Natural Gas systems.
• Calorie & Quality Tracking by monitor, maintain and optimize Calorie Analyzers
• Steam & Auxiliary Facilities: Oversee the engineering integrity, piping routing and efficiency of Steam distribution networks and their associated auxiliary infrastructure.
• Improvement and Investment for utility facilities (COG HP Line, LDG HD, COG BS, COG HD, etc)
• Problem solving utility facility through quality, operational monitoring and maintenance support

What we're looking for

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum 3+ years experience in heavy industries such as Steel Mills, Petrochemicals, or Oil & Gas.
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical and piping technical drawings.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical maintenance, piping systems, utility facilities, and equipment integrity.
• Knowledge of Blast Furnace Gas (BFG), Coke Oven Gas (COG), and Linz-Donawitz Gas (LDG), or other industrial gas systems is an advantage.
• Familiar with Ms. Excel, word, PowerPoint, and engineering software (e.g., AutoCAD), and ERP Systems.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
• Have certification related to piping engineering and design is point plus.
