Job summary

Aurecon in Indonesia is seeking a senior Mechanical Engineer to join our Built Environment team. You will lead the technical delivery of mechanical systems for buildings and infrastructure, ensuring quality, safety and client satisfaction on complex projects.

You bring a Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering, 10+ years of experience in buildings/industrial projects, and excellent communication in English and Bahasa.

What will you do? In this position, you will join our growing Indonesia Built Environment business, where you will play an integral part in a team of highly skilled specialists that ‘bring ideas to life’ for our clients across all types of building and infrastructure projects.

• Responsible for the success of technical aspects of projects won or allocated.
• Applies established methods and technical judgement to deliver defined work and resolve technical issues
• Ensures outputs meet required standards through review and validation
• Demonstrates sound technical capability by consistently applying critical thinking and creativity to deliver outcomes
• Develop and design mechanical systems, including HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning), plumbing, and fire protection systems.
• Implement and maintain quality assurance processes specific to mechanical engineering to ensure project deliverables meet the required standards.
• Conduct site inspections to verify the installation of mechanical systems and ensure they meet design specifications.
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams, including electrical, architects, civil engineers, structural engineers and other stake holders to ensure seamless project execution and resolve any technical issue.
• Prepare and maintain comprehensive project documentation, including mechanical design calculations and reports, equipment specifications, progress updates, and final project deliverables.

• Delivers proposals / parts of proposals by preparing accurate and complete information aligned to requirements
• Manages defined bid components, ensuring quality and alignment to requirements
• Navigates day-to-day client interactions to support delivery progress and resolve routine issues
• Addresses client queries, resolving issues and escalating where needed
• Maintains client relationships through consistent service and responsiveness

• Delivers projects / work packages aligned to scope, milestones and delivery requirements
• Works within budgets and delivery parameters for defined projects / work package

• Responsible for the compliance to company policies and procedures, legislative requirements and act as a role model for Aurecon’s values and behaviors
• Demonstrate safety leadership in all aspects of Aurecon’s business
• Provide input into Unit or office business planning, as requested

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering
• 10+ years’ relevant professional/technical experience and/or specialization in buildings/industrial buildings
• Experience in Data Centre or Telecommunications is preferred but not mandatory
• Demonstrated leadership and team management ability
• High level engineering consulting and client management skills
• Experienced in the delivery of major and/or complex design projects to blue chip clients
• Excellent communicator (in both English and Bahasa) with well-developed commercial, analytical and technical skills
• Sense-making communication skills, being able to explain complex engineering designs and solutions to non-technical audiences
• Experienced in delivering innovative and complex commercial building projects in a fast paced environment
• Experience or interest in managing projects from strategic and detailed planning, concept and detailed design
