Job summary

McDermott is seeking a Mechanic Superintendent to lead fabrication projects, supervise mechanics and technicians, and ensure adherence to safety, schedules, and budgets on large-scale installations.

You will coordinate with engineering and project management to meet specifications, optimize performance, and document maintenance and compliance activities. This role emphasizes leadership, safety, and process improvement in a dynamic environment.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Lead the mechanical aspects of fabrication projects, ensuring seamless execution of assembly, installation, and commissioning of mechanical components and systems.
• Implement and enforce strict safety protocols to ensure compliance with industry regulations and company standards, fostering a zero-accident work environment.
• Collaborate with project management and engineering teams to ensure mechanical work aligns with project specifications, schedules, and quality benchmarks.
• Supervise and direct a team of mechanics and technicians in fabrication, fitting, and adjustment of mechanical systems and equipment.
• Manage the procurement and inventory of mechanical parts, tools, and materials, ensuring availability and quality to support project demands.
• Oversee troubleshooting and resolution of mechanical issues encountered during fabrication, minimizing project delays and cost impacts.
• Maintain accurate records of mechanical operations, including project progress updates, equipment maintenance logs, and safety compliance documentation.
• Promote continuous professional development within the mechanical team by providing training, mentorship, and skill-enhancement opportunities.
• Own and lead the implementation, enforcement, and verification of compliance with all McDermott policies and procedures.
• Ensure employees understand their responsibility and authority to effectively implement the requirements of all McDermott policies and procedures.
• Ensure the timely completion of all mandatory training by themselves and their teams.
