We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Math Teacher (Design Teacher) to join our secondary education team on a full-time basis in Badung, Bali. This is a pivotal position that combines mathematical instruction with design thinking principles, enabling students to explore the practical applications of mathematics through creative problem-solving and design processes. The role offers the opportunity to inspire young learners, develop engaging curriculum that integrates STEM and design concepts, and contribute meaningfully to our school's mission of providing intercultural education that prepares students for real-world challenges.
Plan, prepare and deliver engaging mathematics lessons that integrate design thinking methodologies and real-world applications
Develop and implement creative, student-centred learning experiences that encourage critical thinking and problem-solving
Assess student progress through a variety of formative and summative assessment methods, providing constructive feedback to support individual learning needs
Create a positive, inclusive classroom environment where all students feel motivated and supported to achieve their potential
Collaborate with colleagues to develop interdisciplinary projects that connect mathematics with design, technology and other subject areas
Maintain accurate records of student attendance, progress and behavioural information
Prior experience with the IB curriculum is preferred.
Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student progress and development
Participate in school events, extracurricular activities and professional development opportunities
Contribute to the development and refinement of mathematics and design curricula in line with school vision and educational best practice
Support the school's commitment to intercultural understanding and inclusive education
A recognised qualification in Mathematics teaching or equivalent (Bachelor's degree in Mathematics or Mathematics Education minimum)
Current or recent teaching experience at secondary level, preferably in an international school setting
Demonstrated expertise in teaching mathematics with a strong understanding of contemporary pedagogical approaches
Experience integrating design thinking, STEM concepts or interdisciplinary learning into mathematics instruction
Proficiency in English, both spoken and written, with excellent communication skills
Knowledge of international curricula such as IGCSE, IB or similar frameworks (desirable)
Experience with technology-enhanced learning and digital tools for classroom instruction
A commitment to student-centred learning and differentiated instruction to meet diverse learner needs
Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple responsibilities effectively
Passion for education, innovation and fostering a love of mathematics in young learners
Cultural sensitivity and ability to work in a multicultural environment
A willingness to engage in ongoing professional development and collaborative curriculum design
