Job Profile

Here, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing the timely ordering, delivery, and quality of materials essential for shoe production. This position reporting to the Global Head of Footwear Materials, this role will play a critical part in ensuring smooth operations across our teams.

  • Oversee the purchasing of materials for the operation, ensuring timely and cost-effective procurement.
  • Establish and maintain purchasing practices to ensure honest, fair relationships with our vendors and stakeholders.
  • Responsible for exploring processes to achieve the best possible delivery and optimize material sourcing.
  • Develop, communicate, and administer Purchasing team performance and development plans, including appraisals.
  • Manage current purchasing procedures with a focus on efficiency; meet regularly with respective departments regarding procurement for their understanding and/or recommendations to enhance policies.
  • Develop, communicate, and implement new/revised procedures and programs as needed to improve purchasing practices.
  • Supervise employees directly, including selection, training, performance appraisal, and work allocation.
  • Cooperate and coordinate with other departments to ensure a smooth flow of materials and alignment of strategies.
  • Work to align strategies between units, HUBs, and business locations, supporting and sharing best practices.
  • Ensure the team’s capacity is respected and aligned with business needs.
  • Maintain and review records of inventories, deliveries, and other relevant purchasing data.
  • Maintain close communication with Warehouse management to ensure service needs are met and to improve material flows.
  • Support the team with new and current projects, providing necessary analyses and statistics.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to identify needs and improve deliveries and flows.
  • Monitor inventory levels and develop inventory control policies and procedures to optimize inventory turnover while minimizing excess and obsolete inventory.

Job Experience & Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in material management, procurement, or supply chain roles within the footwear or related industry.
  • Proven track record of successfully managing material supply chains and achieving cost-saving targets.
  • Strong leadership skills with experience in managing teams and projects.
  • Proficiency in material sourcing, purchasing strategies, and inventory management.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
  • Experience in working with cross-functional and international teams.
