Job summary

SMEC in Jakarta is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer with a focus on marine structures. You will conduct structural analysis using STAAD Pro, prepare calculations and drawings in AutoCAD, and ensure designs meet national and international codes.

The role offers mentorship to junior engineers, collaboration with multidisciplinary teams, and site visits for data collection. Bachelor degree in Civil or Ocean Engineering required with at least 7 years of marine structural design experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Ocean Engineering with a specialization in Structural Engineering.
• Minimum of 7 years in structural design of marine structures.
• Proven expertise in structural analysis and design software, particularly STAAD Pro.
• Strong proficiency in AutoCAD for drafting and reviewing drawings.
• Solid understanding of fundamental structural engineering principles.
• Familiarity with common structural materials (steel, concrete, etc.).
• Ability to apply relevant design codes and standards effectively.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Good command of written and spoken English.
• SKK Ahli Madya Dermaga is preferred

Responsibilities

• Conduct structural analysis and design using engineering software, primarily STAAD Pro.
• Prepare detailed design calculations, technical reports, and specifications.
• Prepare structural sketches using AutoCAD to be developed by drafter.
• Review structural drawings prepared by drafter.
• Ensure designs comply with relevant national and international codes and standards.
• Collaborate and coordinate design efforts with other engineering disciplines.
• Participate in site visits for data collection, inspections, or addressing construction queries as needed.
• Review vendor submissions and shop drawings for structural integrity.
• Contribute to the development of project proposals and technical documentation.
• Potentially provide guidance or mentorship to junior engineers.
