Job summary

Seven Retail Group is seeking a Mandarin Curriculum Designer (Associate) in Jakarta Selatan to develop a comprehensive Mandarin curriculum for children, aligned with YCT and HSK. You will create lesson plans, teacher guides, activities, and assessments to support diverse learners.

Collaborating with teachers and academic staff, you will benchmark trends and ensure quality materials that consistently achieve learning outcomes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mandarin Education, Chinese Language and Literature, Education, Linguistics, or related field.
• Strong spoken and written Mandarin; prefer HSK Level 5 or equivalent.
• 1–3 years in Mandarin teaching, curriculum development, instructional design, or related roles; children experience preferred.
• Familiar with Mandarin development and frameworks such as YCT or HSK.
• Creative and able to develop engaging, interactive, age-appropriate learning materials.
• Strong communication, research, project management, and collaboration skills; proficient in Microsoft Office or Google Workspace; English and digital learning/design skills a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop and refine a comprehensive Mandarin curriculum for children, aligned with YCT/HSK.
• Create age- and level-appropriate lesson plans, teacher guides, worksheets, activities, games, and projects.
• Design interactive activities to develop speaking, listening, reading, writing, vocabulary and tonal accuracy.
• Develop placement tests, assessments, rubrics, and tools to measure learning outcomes across ages and levels.
• Conduct benchmarking on Mandarin education trends to improve curriculum.
• Collaborate with teachers to pilot lessons, provide curriculum training, and ensure proper implementation.

Your Day-to-Day

• Develop and refine a comprehensive Mandarin curriculum for children, including learning objectives, level structure, scope and sequence, and learning outcomes, aligned with frameworks such as YCT and HSK.
• Create age- and level-appropriate lesson plans, teacher guides, worksheets, activities, games, projects, and other supporting learning materials.
• Design interactive learning activities that develop students’ speaking, listening, reading, writing, vocabulary, pronunciation, and tonal accuracy.
• Develop placement tests, assessments, rubrics, and other tools to measure learning outcomes, while adapting curriculum to different age groups, proficiency levels, class sizes, and learning needs.
• Conduct research and benchmarking on Mandarin education trends, teaching methodologies, curriculum standards, and competitor programs to continuously improve the curriculum.
• Collaborate with teachers to pilot and refine lessons, provide curriculum training and academic guidance, observe classroom delivery, and ensure curriculum materials are effectively implemented and consistently maintained

Who We're Looking For

• Bachelor’s degree in Mandarin Education, Chinese Language and Literature, Education, Linguistics, or a related field.
• Strong spoken and written Mandarin proficiency; minimum HSK Level 5 or equivalent preferred.
• 1–3 years of experience in Mandarin teaching, curriculum development, instructional design, or related roles; experience with children preferred.
• Familiar with Mandarin language development and learning frameworks such as YCT or HSK.
• Creative and able to develop engaging, interactive, and age-appropriate learning materials.
• Strong communication, research, project management, and collaboration skills; proficient in Microsoft Office or Google Workspace. English and digital learning/design skills are a plus.
