Job summary

Talent Insider is seeking a Department Head of Legal in Jakarta to lead the company's legal function, reporting to the Board of Directors. The role focuses on strategic decision-making, regulatory compliance, and governance for a growing HR consultancy serving Indonesian and regional clients.

The ideal candidate holds a law degree, with 10+ years in the legal field within the extractive sector, and strong LNG/FLNG contract experience. English fluency is essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years' experience in legal function in extractive industry, familiarity with Oil & Gas - LNG is a plus.
• Legal expertise relating to FLNG, LNG contracts, GSA, EPCIC.
• Fluent in English (oral and written).

Responsibilities

• Head Department reporting directly to the BOD and guiding strategic legal decisions.
• Represent the company in general corporate and commercial legal matters.
• Coordinate with legal teams across subsidiaries within the holding group.
• Maintain government relationship building and regulatory compliance.
• Train employees on legal matters and advise management on issues.
• Update management on newly issued laws and regulations affecting the business.
• Ensure good corporate governance and manage company secretary matters.
• Oversee legal matters for affiliated companies.

• Department Head Role, Reporting Straight To BOD (which Then Leads To More Strategic Role Of Decision Making)
• Representing The Company In Any General Corporate Commercial Legal Matters
• Coordinating With Legal Team In Other Subsidiaries Among Holding Group
• Maintaining Governmental Relationship Building
• Conducting Training To Employees Related To Legal Matters
• Advising The Management Team On Various Legal Issues
• Updating The Management Team Of The Company On Any Newly-issued Laws And Regulations Related To The Business Of The Company
• Keeping Good Corporate Governance Throughout The Company's Business Activities (including Compliance And Company Secretary Matters)
• Managing Legal Related Matters Of The Company's Affiliated Company

Requirement

• Holds a Law degree from a reputable university, a Masters degree is preferable
• Minimum a total of 10 years' experience in legal function at similar extractive industry, familiarity with Oil & Gas - familiarity in LNG is a plus
• Legal expertise/work knowledge relating to LNG, FLNG, Gas Sale Agreement (GSA), EPCIC, and other contracts that are entered into in the implementation of a FLNG project , Indonesian cabotage law, etc
• Preferably to have gone through one full cycle in a FLNG/LNG project
• Fluent in English, both oral and writing
• Experienced in various range of contracts, agreements, and other legal documents; control and manage the regulatory affair related with company, BKPM, OSS, Industrial Relations, Company certificates and legal documents. Candidates needs to maintain good relation with government, and local
• Experienced upon reporting to Board of Directors, and handling subordinates
• Ability to navigate through regulatory barriers and strategize to find a solution to overcome such barriers, can work with minimum supervision
• Has deep knowledge of legal aspects and contract drafting with excellent communication, negotiation, networking, management, and critical thinking skills
