Job summary

Cove, Jakarta-based startup, seeks a Legal Associate on a 6-month contract reporting to the Legal Counsel. You will assist in preparing, reviewing, and organizing legal documents while maintaining an efficient filing system.

Responsibilities include drafting and reviewing agreements, coordinating with Supply, conducting basic legal research, and monitoring deadlines within a fast-paced environment.

Job Title: Legal Associate

Job-Type: 6 months contract with potential for permanent employment

Reports To: Legal Counsel

Location: Jakarta

What you’ll be doing:

• Assist the Legal Counsel in preparing, reviewing, and organizing legal documents, including agreements, contracts, letters, and other legal correspondence.
• Maintain and improve Legal’s document filing system and centralized database to ensure legal documents are complete, accurate, properly archived, and easily retrievable.
• Track the status of agreements, letters, and other legal documents, including execution, renewal, amendment, expiry, and termination.
• Coordinate with relevant departments, particularly Supply, to collect and follow up on legal documentation and information relating to external parties.
• Support the registration and administration of agreement and document numbers and other Legal records.
• Assist in drafting agreements, addendum, letters, notices, and other legal documents under the supervision of the Legal Counsel.
• Conduct legal and regulatory research and assist in preparing basic legal analysis and opinions.
• Monitor legal deadlines, pending matters, and action items, including providing timely reminders to the Legal Counsel.
• Support the Legal Counsel in handling day-to-day, ad hoc, and urgent legal matters arising from Cove’s business operations.
• Support the implementation and improvement of Legal processes, SOPs, and documentation systems.
• Assist with other legal and administrative matters as reasonably required by the Legal Counsel.
