Job summary

Responsibilities

• To bridge communication between classroom teacher, student, Learning Support, parents, and the IEP team.
• To perform regular data collection for the IEP team and keep a comprehensive written record.

Job description

• To help and support the student attending mainstream class and to provide guidance in completing classroom activities/works when necessary
• To help the student achieve goals stated in his/her Individualized Educational Plan (IEP) by implementing the accommodations for the student
• To bridge communication between the classroom teacher, the student, Learning Support, parents, and the IEP team on the student's progress/concerns.
• To perform regular data collection for the IEP team (keep a comprehensive written record)

Qualifications

• Good Teaching Qualifications (Certified Shadow Teacher/learning support assistant)
• Experience in teaching students with special needs (preferably as a Shadow Teacher/Learning Support Assistant)
• Good communication skills and a positive and caring approach
• Fluency in spoken and written English
• Understanding of education
• Experience in coordinating with parents to support a student with learning difficulties
• Ability to work cooperatively as well as to work in a team
