Job summary

Petrolink is seeking a lead web developer to build and scale high-performance web applications and platform services in Jakarta. You will blend hands-on engineering with technical leadership to deliver scalable, reliable systems for real-time data workloads.

You will collaborate with Product, Architecture, and Operations to set technical direction, drive delivery, and promote engineering excellence across distributed teams.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of software engineering experience with full‑stack web development.
• Expertise in frontend frameworks (Angular, React).
• Strong backend experience (Node.js).
• Experience designing scalable distributed systems.
• Familiar with event‑driven architectures and message brokers.
• Experience in Agile environments and leading distributed teams.
• Excellent communication and collaboration with cross‑functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Own architecture and design of scalable, high‑availability web platforms and services.
• Lead design discussions, perform architectural reviews, and make key technical decisions.
• Define engineering standards, coding practices, and system design principles.
• Drive adoption of modern architectures, including microservices and event‑driven systems.
• Design and build web applications using modern frameworks (Angular/React) and backend services (Node.js).
• Develop and scale distributed systems with a focus on performance, resilience, and observability.
• Define API strategies and integration patterns across services and external systems.
• Ensure robust CI/CD pipelines and high‑quality release processes.
• Lead, mentor, and grow a high‑performing distributed engineering team.
• Provide hands‑on technical guidance across all levels of experience.
• Support hiring, onboarding, and performance management.
• Own delivery timelines, technical risks, and quality outcomes across projects.
• Work closely with Product Managers, QA, and Operations to align on priorities and execution.
• Communicate effectively with technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
• Proactively identify and mitigate risks impacting delivery.
• Evaluate new technologies, tools, and architectural approaches.
• Drive improvements in engineering processes, system performance, and developer productivity.

Responsibilities:

Technical Leadership & Architecture

Execution & Stakeholder Management

• Own delivery timelines, technical risks, and quality outcomes across projects

Continuous Improvement & Innovation

Qualification

• 8+ years of experience in software engineering, with significant experience in full‑stack web development
• Proven expertise in modern frontend frameworks (Angular and/or React)
• Strong backend development experience (Node.js or similar technologies)
• Demonstrated experience designing and building scalable, distributed systems
• Experience with event‑driven architectures and message brokers (e.g., Kafka, RabbitMQ)Strong understanding of software design patterns and engineering best practices
• Experience working in Agile development environments
• Excellent communication and leadership skills, with experience managing distributed teams

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or similar) and containerized deployments
• Familiarity with Kubernetes and microservices architectures
• Experience with databases including PostgreSQL, MS SQL, Oracle, and NoSQL (e.g., Cassandra)
• Exposure to CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices
• Experience with observability tools (logging, monitoring, tracing)
• Knowledge of additional backend technologies (e.g., .NET/C#)
• Experience building frameworks, reusable platform components, or developer tooling
