Job summary

Grab is seeking a Lead Software Engineer, Backend (Build Automation) to shape and improve CI pipelines for backend services. This onsite role is based in the Jakarta office, reporting to the Engineering Manager II in Singapore.

You will implement GitLab CI pipelines and Go/Python tools, enhance local development setups with Nix, and collaborate across teams to drive reproducible builds and robust automation.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of professional software development experience.
• Proficiency in Go and Python and CI/CD with GitLab CI.
• Knowledge of Nix, build isolation and reproducibility.
• Experience with AWS and observability tooling (DataDog, Kibana, Grafana).
• Experience creating detailed technical documentation and helping users.

Responsibilities

• Develop and refine GitLab CI pipelines and Go/Python tools for backend services.
• Improve local development setup tools and promote reproducible builds with Go and Nix.
• Engage with users to gather requirements, propose improvements and provide technical support.
• Collaborate with the team to align tools with evolving project needs and standards.
• Develop solutions to improve CI tools usability.
