Traveloka is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer for a fully remote, globally distributed engineering team. You will design, build, and maintain scalable microservices powering fintech platforms, with a focus on reliable RESTful APIs, data models, and robust security.

You will collaborate with frontend, product managers, and other stakeholders, review code, optimize databases, and help shape architectural decisions while staying current with backend technologies.

Qualifikationen

• Bachelor's degree in CS/engineering or related field.
• 5+ years of backend development experience.
• Experience designing, building, and maintaining microservices architecture.
• Proficiency in one or more modern backend languages and frameworks (Java, Python, Go, Node.js; Spring Boot, Django, Flask).
• Experience with RESTful APIs and database technologies (PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB).
• Familiarity with messaging systems (Kafka, RabbitMQ) and cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP).
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and Agile practices.

Key Responsibilities

• Optimize database performance and design efficient data models for relational and NoSQL databases.
• Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code, adhering to established coding standards and architectural patterns.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field; Master's degree is a plus.
• 5+ years of professional experience in backend software development.
• Proven experience designing, building, and maintaining microservices architectures.
• Strong proficiency in at least one modern backend programming language (e.g., Java, Python, Go, Node.js) and associated frameworks (e.g., Spring Boot, Django, Flask).
• Extensive experience developing and consuming RESTful APIs.
• Solid understanding of database technologies (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB) and data modeling.
• Experience with message queuing systems (e.g., Kafka, RabbitMQ) is highly desirable.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and containerization technologies (Docker).
• Strong understanding of software design patterns, data structures, and algorithms.
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and debugging skills.
• Effective communication and collaboration skills, ability to work autonomously in a remote setting.
