Crossing Hurdles is seeking a Software Engineer Backend for a remote contract role. You will design and implement scalable backend services and APIs, and address challenging performance concerns with a pragmatic, results‑driven mindset.

Compensation ranges from $30 to $100 per hour, with a commitment of 10–40 hours per week. The role requires strong backend experience across languages, solid CS fundamentals, debugging, and automated testing, plus rigorous code reviews.

Qualifications

• Strong backend experience across languages such as Java, Node.js, Go, Rust, Typescript, Python, C++ or similar.
• Track record of building scalable services and APIs.
• Comfort with debugging, performance work, and automated testing.
• Solid code review instincts.
• Strong understanding of algorithms, data structures, and foundational computer science concepts.
