Role Overview
OSL Indonesia is a licensed digital asset exchange serving retail and institutional clients through our web platform and the OSL mobile app.
Most customer applications are verified automatically. You handle the ones automation can't: high-risk profiles, PEP and sanctions hits, suspicious or incomplete submissions, and appeals. You make the final approve or reject call and keep a clear record of every decision that will hold up in a regulator review.
Key Responsibilities:
Review customer applications (your daily work)
- Work through the KYC Pending queue in our back-office system: pick up a case, review it fully, then decide or escal
- Check IDs (KTP or passport), selfies and liveness results. Spot edited, forged or borrowed documents.
- Check that occupation, income, source of funds and account purpose make sense for each customer.
- Review name screening results for PEP, sanctions and terrorist-list hits. Decide if each is a real match or a false positive, and write down why.
- Set and adjust the customer's risk score.
- Decide: Approve, Reject (can reapply), or Reject (final). Write reject reasons the customer and our Support team can act on.
- Review customers who were rejected and have resubmitted. Decide if the issue is fixed.
- Request missing documents and file them to the case.
- Keep full notes on every case so any decision can be explained later.
Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD) for high-risk customers
- Identify customers who need EDD, such as PEPs, government officials and people with unusual sources of wealth.
- Send EDD forms and run EDD interviews by video call or Google Form to verify source of funds, wealth and business purpose.
- Write up your assessment with a clear risk conclusion and a recommendation (approve, monitor or reject).
- Escalate complex or high-risk cases to the AML Specialist for the final decision.
- Keep complete EDD records ready for audit.
Business (KYB) onboarding
- Review corporate and institutional applications.
- Verify company documents: Akta Pendirian, NPWP Perusahaan, and KTPs of directors and beneficial owners.
- Assess the company's risk based on business type, ownership structure and source of funds.
- Work with clients to collect any missing documents.
Manual crypto withdrawal review
- Review withdrawals that fall outside automatic approval limits.
- Assess risk using the destination wallet, transaction history and customer risk profile.
- Escalate to the AML Specialist when needed.
Reporting and improvement
- Report to the AML Specialist on queue volume, turnaround time, approval rate and top reject reasons.
- Keep KYC SOPs and the reject-reason library up to date with OJK and PPATK rules (POJK 8/2023 and POJK 27/2024).
- Prepare evidence for internal and regulatory audits.
- Give Product and Engineering feedback on the KYC flow and back-office tools.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in related field.
- Proficient in English is a must
- Minimum 1 year in KYC, customer due diligence or AML operations at a bank, payment company, fintech or crypto exchange.
- Working knowledge of Indonesian AML/CFT rules (APU-PPT) and OJK regulations (POJK 8/2023 and POJK 27/2024). You know when a case should be escalated for a suspicious transaction report to PPATK.
- Hands-on experience reviewing Indonesian identity documents (KTP, NPWP, passport), including spotting edited, forged or borrowed ones.
- Experience handling PEP, sanctions and adverse-media hits and documenting your decisions.
