Bali Mana Sol in Bali, Indonesia seeks a Junior Product & Business Analyst to understand how Karana supports villa management, reservations, guest communication, housekeeping, maintenance, and reporting.
You will work closely with the CEO and developers to test features, reproduce issues, document steps with clarity, and propose improvements. Fresh graduates welcome; English proficiency required.
Location: Bali, Indonesia
Employment: Full-time
Company: Bali Mana Sol
Experience: Fresh graduate to 2 years of experience
Bali Mana Sol is a growing villa management company in Bali. We are developing Karana, our internal technology platform used to manage our operations, including reservations, guest communication, housekeeping, maintenance, accounting, owner reporting, staff tasks, and other business processes.
As Karana continues to grow, we are looking for a smart, curious and highly analytical person to work closely with our CEO and development team.
This is not simply a software testing position.
Your job is to understand how the business works, what Karana is supposed to achieve, and whether the system actually makes sense for the people using it.
You will test new and existing features, identify bugs and inconsistencies, question workflows that do not make sense, think about unusual situations and edge cases, and help us continuously improve the product.
You will:
Learn how Bali Mana Sol operates and understand its different business processes.
Learn Karana in detail and understand how its different modules interact.
Test new features developed by our software development team.
Continuously test existing functionality to make sure changes have not broken other parts of the system.
Test complete workflows rather than simply individual buttons or screens.
Identify bugs, incorrect calculations, missing information and unexpected behavior.
Identify workflows that technically work but are confusing, inefficient or illogical from a user's perspective.
Think about edge cases and situations that developers may not have considered.
Reproduce problems and clearly document how they occur.
Create clear bug reports with screenshots, videos and step-by-step explanations when necessary.
Discuss issues directly with the CEO and developers.
Verify that reported problems have been properly fixed.
Compare completed features against their original business requirements.
Suggest improvements when you identify a better or simpler way of doing something.
Help ensure Karana remains reliable as the company and platform grow.
We care more about how you think than how many years you have worked.
You may be a very recent university graduate. Previous software QA experience is helpful but not required.
You should be:
Highly intelligent and a fast learner.
Naturally curious and willing to ask "Why?"
Logical and analytical.
Extremely attentive to details.
Comfortable exploring technology and learning new software.
Able to understand complicated business processes.
Able to see both the small details and the bigger picture.
Comfortable challenging something when it does not make sense.
Independent and able to investigate problems without needing detailed instructions.
Organized and able to document problems clearly.
Comfortable working directly with the CEO and software developers.
You must have:
Excellent spoken and written English
You should be comfortable communicating professionally in both languages.
We are open to different educational backgrounds.
Information Systems
Computer Science / Informatics
Business / Management
Finance / Accounting
Other analytical disciplines
Your degree is less important than your ability to understand systems, think logically and learn quickly.
You do not need to be a software developer.
However, you should be comfortable with technology and ideally have experience with some of the following:
Web and mobile applications
Google Sheets / Excel
Databases or structured data
Software testing
Process mapping
AI tools
Project or task management software
Basic knowledge of SQL, APIs, software development or databases is an advantage but not required.
We are not only looking for someone who says:
"I clicked this button and received an error."
We want someone who also asks:
"Why does the user need to enter this information twice?"
"What happens if the booking is modified after this task has already been created?"
"Could this transaction accidentally be recorded twice?"
"What happens if the staff member doesn't complete this step?"
"This technically works, but would a real user understand what they are supposed to do?"
That type of thinking is extremely important for this position.
Shortlisted candidates will be given a practical assessment.
You will receive access to a test version of Karana and be asked to explore part of the application.
We will evaluate your ability to:
Discover problems independently
Understand what the system is trying to accomplish
Identify bugs and edge cases
Question confusing or inefficient workflows
Prioritize important issues
Explain your findings clearly
Suggest sensible improvements
There may not always be a correct answer. We are primarily interested in how you think.
Karana is becoming a major part of how Bali Mana Sol operates.
This position therefore has the opportunity to grow beyond software testing into a broader Product Analyst, Business Analyst or Product Manager role.
For the right person, you will gradually develop a deep understanding of both the technology and the business and become an important link between operations, management and the development team.
