Job summary

PISON Group is seeking a hardworking, passionate Junior Cook to join our culinary team in Bali. You will support daily kitchen operations by assisting with food preparation, cooking, maintaining cleanliness, and ensuring food quality and safety standards are followed.

Under the guidance of the Chef de Partie or Senior Cook, you will help with mise en place, portioning, and keeping the kitchen organized during busy service.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Junior Cook, Cook, Commis, or in a similar culinary role is an advantage.
• Basic knowledge of food preparation and cooking techniques.
• Basic understanding of kitchen operations and food safety.
• Ability to follow recipes, instructions, and portion standards.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Strong attention to cleanliness and detail.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
• Ability to remain calm and focused during busy service periods.
• Responsible, disciplined, and well-organized.
• Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and willingness to learn.

Responsibilities

• Assist with food preparation and mise en place according to recipes and kitchen standards
• Prepare and cook dishes under the guidance of the Chef de Partie or Senior Cook
• Ensure proper portioning, quality, taste, and presentation of food
• Assist with washing, cutting, peeling, marinating, and preparing ingredients
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen and assigned work station
• Ensure proper storage, labeling, and handling of food and ingredients
• Follow FIFO, hygiene, sanitation, and food safety procedures
• Check the quality and freshness of ingredients before use
• Assist with monitoring and reducing food waste
• Keep kitchen equipment and utensils clean and properly maintained
• Support the kitchen team during busy service periods
• Coordinate with other kitchen team members to ensure smooth operations
• Assist with daily kitchen opening and closing duties
• Follow instructions from the Chef de Partie, Senior Cook, or Manager
• Perform other operational duties as assigned
