Job summary

Pullman Ciawi Vimala Hills Resort Spa & Convention is seeking a Commis Chef to assist in preparing and cooking menu items, ensuring quality and consistency in a premium hotel environment. You will support mise en place, maintain sanitary standards, and collaborate with the kitchen team to deliver exceptional guest experiences.

Ideal candidates have 1–2 years in a similar role, basic English, and flexibility to work shifts, weekends, and holidays at our 5-star resort in West Java.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years experience as a Commis Chef or similar in 4- or 5-star hotels.
• Basic knowledge of food preparation and kitchen operations.
• Understanding of food safety, hygiene, and HACCP standards.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen.
• Flexible to work shifts, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation and cooking of menu items according to recipes and quality standards.
• Prepare ingredients and set up for daily kitchen operations.
• Maintain consistency in food quality, portioning, and presentation.
• Keep assigned kitchen area clean and organized.
• Follow HACCP, hygiene and sanitation standards.
• Assist in receiving, checking and storing kitchen deliveries.
• Minimize food waste through portion control and efficient use of ingredients.
• Support banquet, restaurant, room service and events as required.
• Operate kitchen equipment safely and report malfunctions to the supervisor.
• Collaborate with the kitchen team to ensure smooth operations.
