Job summary

Schoters is expanding its Academic Officer - Japanese Program to build and refine the learning system for our Japanese language offerings. The role focuses on curriculum and syllabus development, learning objectives, and assessments to ensure progression and consistency across levels.

Ideal candidates will have experience in Japanese curriculum development, JLPT-aligned assessment design, and strong documentation skills, with fluent Japanese and solid English communication abilities.

Qualifications

• Experience in Japanese language curriculum development, syllabus development, lesson planning, assessment development, or related academic roles.
• Familiar with JLPT curriculum and levels, able to translate JLPT competencies into learning objectives and progression.
• Understanding of Japanese language learning methodology and learner needs across proficiency levels.
• Fluent in Japanese (reading and writing).
• Strong English writing skills are a plus.
• Well-structured in developing, documenting, and presenting academic materials.
• Experience in Japanese language schools, educational institutions, or teaching Japanese is preferred.
• Experience in developing assessments or materials aligned with JLPT standards is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Designing and developing the learning system for Japanese language programs.
• Developing curriculum and syllabus with learning objectives, materials, progression, and assessments.
• Creating lesson plans and learning activities aligned to curriculum objectives.
• Developing assessment materials to measure student progress.
• Mapping materials and competencies for JLPT and progression across levels.
• Reviewing and improving curriculum, syllabi, lesson plans, and assessments.
• Developing academic guidelines to ensure consistency across programs.
• Collaborating with academic and operations teams to implement programs effectively.
