We are currently opening a vacancy for Academic Officer - Japanese Program, who will be responsible for developing and improving the academic system for our Japanese language learning programs.
Job Description:
- Designing and developing the learning system for Japanese language programs.
- Developing Japanese language curriculum and syllabus, including learning objectives, learning materials, learning progression, assessment mechanisms, and assessment indicators.
- Developing lesson plans and learning activities based on the established curriculum and learning objectives.
- Developing assessment materials, including exercises, quizzes, tests, and other forms of evaluation to measure students' learning progress.
- Mapping learning materials and competencies for JLPT and ensuring appropriate progression across levels.
- Reviewing and improving existing curriculum, syllabus, lesson plans, and assessment materials based on student needs and learning outcomes.
- Developing academic guidelines and documentation to ensure consistency in learning delivery across Japanese programs.
- Collaborating with other academic and operational teams to ensure the implementation of the academic programs runs effectively.
Requirements:
- Having experience in Japanese language curriculum development, syllabus development, lesson planning, assessment development, or other related academic roles.
- Familiar with JLPT curriculum and competency levels and able to translate JLPT competencies into structured learning objectives and progression.
- Having a good understanding of Japanese language learning methodology and the learning needs of students at different proficiency levels.
- Fluent in Japanese, especially in reading and writing.
- Strong English communication skills, especially in writing, would be a plus.
- Well-structured and organized in developing, documenting, and presenting academic materials.
- Able to analyze existing academic materials and provide constructive recommendations for improvement.
- Experience working in Japanese language schools, educational institutions, academic teams, or teaching Japanese is preferred.
- Experience in developing assessments or learning materials aligned with JLPT standards is a plus.
