Job summary

A leading petrochemical company in Indonesia seeks an experienced IT Specialist to design and maintain IT infrastructure for plant operations. This role requires a Bachelor’s degree in computer science and at least 7 years of experience in the petrochemical or oil & gas sectors. Candidates should have expertise in industrial automation, network security, and experience with PLC and SCADA systems. The position is contract-based for 1.5 years.

Responsibilities:

• Designing IT infrastructure, includes servers, networks, software, and hardware necessary for plant operations.
• Integrating IT systems with plant operations by working with other departments (engineering, production, maintenance, etc.) to ensure smooth data flow and system compatibility.
• Cybersecurity by protecting the plant's IT systems from cyber threats and ensuring data security.
• Troubleshooting and problem-solving by Identifying and resolving IT-related issues that may impact plant operations.
• Utilizing data analysis and process knowledge to improve plant efficiency and performance.
• Providing training to plant personnel on the use of IT systems and software.
• Continuously learning about new IT advancements and how they can be applied to the chlor-alkali industry.
• Ensuring compliance with safety and environmental regulations.
• Communicating effectively with operations, engineering, and other stakeholders.
• Working with process engineers to understand plant requirements. Collaborating with up and downstream engineering and operations staff.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field
• Minimum 7 years experience in EPC Project Petrochemical or Oil & Gas
• Has knowledge of industrial automation and control systems: Experience with PLCs, SCADA systems, and other relevant technologies.
• Understanding of chemical processes, particularly chlor-alkali manufacturing
• Ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues.
• Proven knowledge of network security, data protection, and threat mitigation.
• Familiarity with tools used in industrial automation and data analysis.
• Ability to manage IT-related projects from start to finish.
