Job summary

PT CIMB Niaga Auto Finance is seeking an experienced IT Database Administrator to join our ICT team in Tangerang Selatan. You will manage, maintain, and optimise our database infrastructure to ensure reliability, security, and performance in support of business operations and customer service.

The role requires 3–5 years in database administration, with expertise in major DBMS (SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL) and strong data modelling, security, and recovery skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in IT, CS, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 3–5 years in database administration.
• Strong expertise in MS SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL, or PostgreSQL.
• Proficiency in database design, data modelling, and normalization.
• Backup and disaster recovery procedures including replication and failover.
• Knowledge of database security, authentication, authorization, and encryption.
• Experience with performance monitoring and optimisation tools.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
• DBA certifications preferred (e.g., MCDBA or Oracle Certified Associate).
• Experience with cloud-based databases and virtualization is advantageous.

About the role

PT CIMB Niaga Auto Finance is seeking an experienced IT Database Administrator to join our Information & Communication Technology team. This is a full-time position based in Tangerang Selatan, Banten. As IT Database Administrator, you will be responsible for the management, maintenance, and optimisation of our critical database infrastructure. This role is pivotal to ensuring the reliability, security, and performance of our systems, which directly supports our business operations and customer service delivery.

What you'll be doing

• Installing, configuring, and maintaining database management systems and related software to ensure optimal performance and availability
• Monitoring database performance and implementing tuning strategies to improve efficiency and response times
• Creating and managing database backup and recovery procedures to ensure data integrity and business continuity
• Implementing and maintaining security protocols, access controls, and encryption measures to protect sensitive data
• Troubleshooting database issues, identifying root causes, and implementing timely resolutions to minimise downtime
• Managing user access rights, permissions, and accounts in accordance with organisational policies and compliance requirements
• Collaborating with IT teams and application developers to support new system implementations and upgrades
• Maintaining comprehensive documentation of database configurations, procedures, and disaster recovery plans
• Conducting regular audits and reviews of database systems to ensure compliance with industry standards and best practices
• Providing technical support and guidance to other IT staff and end-users regarding database-related issues

What we're looking for

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience
• Minimum 3-5 years of professional experience in database administration and management
• Strong expertise in popular database management systems such as Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL, or PostgreSQL
• Proficiency in database design, data modelling, and normalisation principles
• Solid understanding of backup and disaster recovery procedures, including replication and failover mechanisms
• Knowledge of database security best practices, including user authentication, authorisation, and encryption
• Experience with database performance monitoring and optimisation tools
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
• Excellent communication abilities and capacity to work effectively within a team environment
• Certification in database administration (such as Microsoft Certified Database Administrator or Oracle Certified Associate) is preferred
• Experience with cloud-based database solutions and virtualisation technologies is advantageous
