Job summary

MSC's island reserve, Ocean Cay, Bahamas seeks a dedicated Irrigation and Grounds Technician to operate and maintain irrigation and drainage systems across the island and grounds. The role includes daily monitoring, repairs, preventive maintenance, and record-keeping, with staff accommodation provided.

You'll work with a small team, applying basic electricity, hydraulics, and Rain Bird controls, ensuring efficient water usage and healthy turf while complying with safety and environmental

Qualifications

• Fluent English, verbal and written.

Responsibilities

• Operate irrigation heads in dry areas as needed.
• Monitors daily water usage and informs maintenance engineer of adjustments.
• Repairs irrigation pipes, heads, valves and related components.
• Performs preventive maintenance on irrigation equipment.
• Maintains records of equipment maintenance and water usage.
• Manages inventory and ordering of irrigation parts.
• Performs daily tank and pump water usage reports.
• Assists in applying fertilizers and pesticides under supervision.
• Operates dump trucks and light equipment for hauling materials.
