Job Summary

Drive accurate product costing and market price intelligence for grease and lubricant manufacturing to control cost, protect margin, and support sourcing decisions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Calculate cost per liter and cost per kilogram for chemical processes such as blending, grease making, and distillation.
  • Build and maintain standard cost and actual cost for materials, labor, energy, and overhead.
  • Perform variance analysis. Focus on yield loss, material deviation, and energy consumption.
  • Develop cost models in Excel or Google Sheets. Include energy, consumables, and indirect cost allocation.
  • Collect process data from production and engineering. Use cycle time, consumption rate, and mass balance.
  • Review vendor quotations and invoices. Identify mark up, hidden cost, and abnormal unit price changes.
  • Conduct vendor price benchmarking with at least three comparators. Cover materials, chemicals, spare parts, and engineering services.
  • Evaluate vendor pricing using arm’s length principle and fair margin logic.
  • Prepare cost and price insight reports for management and procurement.
  • Support negotiation with data‑driven cost breakdown.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Management, Industrial Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or related field.
  • Proven 3-5 years experience in industrial costing or cost accounting within chemical, grease, or lubricant manufacturing.
  • Strong understanding of process‑based costing, not only general accounting.
  • Proven skill in AP Journal, variance analysis and root cause identification.
  • Hands‑on experience building cost models in Excel or Google Sheets.
  • Experience working directly with production or engineering teams in a plant environment.
  • Knowledge of vendor benchmarking and market price intelligence.
  • Ability to review invoices and quotations with investigative mindset.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to numbers.
  • Good communication skills to work across production, engineering, procurement, and finance.
