Job summary

Prospera is seeking a Research Analyst (Budget and Debt Management) to provide full-time analytical support to the Budget and Debt Management Team in Indonesia. The role focuses on government expenditure, financing and fiscal monitoring, translating data into clear insights and policy products for GoI counterparts and internal colleagues.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in relevant fields; at least two years of relevant experience in economics, fiscal policy, public financial management, budget analysis or related field.
• Strong quantitative and data-management skills; proficiency in STATA and advanced Excel/PowerPoint usage.
• Ability to source, reconcile and analyse data from multiple sources; English and Bahasa Indonesia proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Monitor budget developments and track execution against targets.
• Analyse government spending across aggregate, functional, economic, programme and sectoral levels.
• Support analysis of spending efficiency, effectiveness, and allocation through reviews and benchmarking.
• Support analysis of budget formulation, execution and reporting, including reforms and institutional arrangements.
• Prepare datasets, charts, briefs, policy notes and reports for policy audiences.
• Work with Government of Indonesia counterparts and Prospera colleagues to inform policy discussions.
